Admonishments

The Seventh Admonishment:

“Invite to Allah by means other than your tongues.”

In His name, the Exalted.

There are some people who treat admonishment and speech which is a prerequisite for appropriate action as goal. As if they should only say and listen for the sake of saying and listening. This is wrong. The act of teaching and learning is meant for practical action and it is not independent. In order to explain and persuade this fact, the Imams have said: “Invite to Allah by means other than your tongues.”

“Invite to Allah by means other than your tongues.”

Say with practice and learn from practice. You should hear practically. Some people want to teach the teacher and even they want him to learn the method of teaching from the disciples. Some people request for prayers. We say for what? They express their pains. We introduce them with its cure. In return, instead of being grateful they again say please pray for us. There is difference between what we say and what they ask. They mix the prerequisite of the prayer with the prayer itself.

We should do what we know and with respect to what we do not know we should be precautious until we know it.

We are not exempted from duties rather we should gain result from action. It is impossible that action may be fruitless and the result may be gained from non-action. We should not be like this:

“پی مصلحت مجلس آراستند                                                             نشستند و گفتند و برخاستند”

May we not be talkative rather may we be active. We should not move without action and should stop with knowledge.

We should do what we know and with respect to what we do not know we should be precautious until we know it. Certainly, this path does not result to regret. We should not look at each other rather we should look towards Shariah and make our action and avoidance according to.

May peace, Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
