Admonishments

The Second Admonishment:

There is no success for me but by Allah

In His name, the exalted.

I ask those who seek admonishment: whether they have acted upon the admonishments they have heard until now or not?

Do you know that whosoever acts upon what he knows, God converts from him the unknown into known?

Whether is it suitable for a person who deliberately does know act upon what he knows to expect increase in knowledge?

Whether the invitation towards the truth should be by means of tongue? Have not [the Infallible ones] asked to invite towards the truth by means of our deeds?

Whether we should teach the method of teaching or learn it?

May Allah make us successful to avoid abandoning what we know and to be precautious with respect to what we don’t know until it becomes known.

Does not the answer to these question become clear by the Quran: “و الذین جاهدوا فینا لنهدینّهم سبلنا” [i.e. those who struggle for us we will surely guide them to our paths] and by the words of Imam “« من عمل بما علم ورّثه الله علم ما لم یعلم” and “من عمل بما علم کفی ما لم یعلم”.

May Allah make us successful to avoid abandoning what we know and to be precautious with respect to what we don’t know until it becomes known. May we not be among those about whom it has been said:

“پی مصلحت مجلس آراستند                                                             نشستند و گفتند و برخاستند”

[i.e. they have arranged the gathering in their interest. They have sit there, said something and stood up]

And there is no success for me but by Allah. I depend on Him and take His shelter. Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings may be upon you.
